Maddocks Gardens is a 90-bed home that combines permanent, respite and dementia-specific residential aged care.
Our three wings, Blue Gum, Banksia and Sutherland, all offer a safe, comfortable and supportive environment with accessible outdoor areas and well-maintained grounds and gardens. You can live in a welcoming home, which promotes your individuality, independence and goals of care.
We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and have the support from the BRHS Aboriginal Health Unit, who maintains strong links with community.
We welcome older people who are born overseas or who speak a language other than English as we have workers who originated from overseas including Fiji, Nepal, New Zealand and South Korea. We are also able to access interpreter services if required.
We welcome older people who live with cognitive impairment as the home has a secure 32-bed memory support wing that offers additional support if required.
We welcome older people who are LGBTIQ+ as the home is part of the Victorian Public Service Residential Aged Care Network that supports inclusivity and provides additional staff education and coaching.
We welcome older people who are living with lifelong or acquired physical, sensory or intellectual disabilities as the home has strong links with local medical services and access to BRHS clinical operations.
We welcome older people who are ex-service members including widows and widowers as we have links with Legacy and the local RSL.

Our People
At Maddocks Gardens, our people are our strength and our team has extensive experience in aged care and take pride in offering the best possible care. Because we are part of the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, we have ready access to the hospital and a host of allied health services to ensure our residents are safe, secure and receive the best possible care.
Our multi-disciplinary teams include Registered and Enrolled Nurses, Healthcare Workers and Leisure and Lifestyle staff who all work collaboratively with GPs and allied health professionals whose focus it is to understand your goals of care and preferences, and deliver the best care that achieves this.

Residential In Reach
Our In Reach service is a valuable inclusion that we provide if a resident becomes unwell and their doctor is unavailable.
A specialist nurse will come from the hospital to make a clinical assessment and liaise with the resident’s doctor and the staff at Maddocks Gardens to decide which location is best to provide ongoing care.
Sometimes, the best option for our resident is not to go to hospital but to be treated with specialist care delivery by this team in familiar surroundings.
