BRHS runs a Social Support Service that we call Planned Activity Groups.

What Are Planned Activity Groups?

Planned Activity Groups are a friendly welcoming place to create friendships, enjoy a favourite pastime or perhaps join in new experiences.

Each week Planned Activity Groups enjoy a range of activities that are designed to promote better health and wellbeing for community members.

Who Can Attend Planned Activity Groups?

  • People aged 65 and over
  • People living with a disability
  • People receiving NDIS assistance
  • Support for carers by providing respite for up to 5 hours per day

What is the Cost?

Attending a Planned Activity Group costs less than $15 per day, which includes a freshly prepared, two-course home-cooked meal, and morning/afternoon tea.

Out & About Club

Enjoy travelling to a different location each week to explore local venues, galleries, scenic drives and points of interest.

Centre-based groups in one of our 4 locations

The group enjoy a range of activities, for example, a game of carpet bowls, guest speakers, board games, be entertained by local musicians or travel to a local park for a picnic or BBQ.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) programs

Didn’t qualify for NDIS?

You may qualify for a different program that funds some of the same services.

The Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC-PYP) funds support services for people with disabilities.

At BRHS, HACC-PYP covers such things as:

  • Social support and community access, such as our Planned Activity Groups
  • Healthcare and rehabilitation services
  • Nursing and continence support
  • Carer support and respite

Planned Activity Groups are funded by Home and Community Care (HACC) and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), are underpinned by the Active Service Model (ASM).

With your consent, Planned Activity Group will participate in care coordination with other BRHS services and local HACC funded agencies.
