Looking for a way to give back to your local community, meet new people and help support better care at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service?
The Bower Birds Auxiliary is a friendly fundraising group that has been supporting BRHS for decades, raising money to purchase important equipment that helps us provide the best care to our patients and their families.
Members help organise and support activities throughout the year, including Bunnings sausage sizzles, cake stalls, catering, special events and other fundraising activities.
But being part of the Bower Birds is also about connection.
Long-time member Anne Dowley describes volunteering as a rewarding way to give back to the hospital and community, while meeting new people, making friends and helping raise funds for equipment for BRHS.
The Bower Birds meet on the third Thursday of each month at 11am for around one hour, with many members then heading out for lunch together.
You don’t need any special experience, just a willingness to get involved and contribute in a way that suits you.
