For Nick Miller, Hard Work Pays Off As New Door Opens at BRHS

BRHS staff passing the Medical Imaging desk these days may see a familiar face in an unfamiliar place.

Nick Miller, who will be known to you for his work in our award-winning Supply team, has taken on an additional part-time role with Medical Imaging administration.

For BRHS, it’s a real win – being able to give additional shifts to a top-shelf worker to help ensure he stays with the organisation and feels valued.

For Nick, too, it adds some welcome employment security.

Since moving to the area with his wife and young family two years ago, Nick has been able to piece together a couple of shifts a week in Supply, where he impressed Manager Lucinda Fleming with his professional competence and ability to handle a wide range of tasks.

“Nick has the most wonderful attitude and ‘can-do’ mentality.”

That capability was also much appreciated by Chief Health Information Manager Juliette Wenn, when she seconded Nick to assist with the six-month reorganisation of BRHS storage records last year.

“Nick has the most wonderful attitude and ‘can-do’ mentality,” Juliette said.

And so when a vacancy came up in Medical Imaging, Lucinda and Juliette were both happy to vouch for him.

“I was really grateful to have Lucinda and Juliette go in to bat for me,” Nick said this week, as he prepared for his first shift in the new role.

With 10 years of previous experience in administration and customer service, no doubt it won’t take Nick too long to get up to speed.

It’s a challenge he’s certainly up for.

“I’m looking forward to having that interaction with people coming to the hospital,” he said. “I’m excited to be a part of their day, and their healthcare journey.”

Good on you, Nick.

Next time you pass Medical Imaging, stop in and wish him well.
