Approximately 200 frontline staff at BRHS have been partly or fully inoculated against COVID-19, following another round of vaccinations by the Gippsland Public Health Unit on Friday.

“I barely felt that at all,” said Emily Enzinger, a healthcare worker at Maddocks Gardens Aged Care facility, paying tribute to the skill of the specially-trained nurses of the Gippsland Public Health Unit that delivered the jabs.

Emily now joins a growing number of Australian healthcare workers to be vaccinated against the deadly virus.

The first phase of BRHS staff to receive the vaccine are those working in Maddocks Gardens, the Emergency Department, Medical Imaging, and our acute inpatient ward, Tambo Ward.

Most of the residents of Maddocks Gardens have now been inoculated, too, with many receiving their second doses of the Pfizer vaccine on Friday.

Nurses from Latrobe Regional Hospital delivered the vaccines on Friday as part of the Gippsland Public Health Unit, a collaboration of health services in the region.
