“Change is the only constant in life.”
Old Heraclitus, the Greek philosopher that spouted these words of wisdom, must have known a little about being a healthcare worker during the coronavirus pandemic.
Last Friday saw the latest in a constant stream of pandemic-related changes to rules and regulations at BRHS.
And our nimble and resilient staff in every area of the health service are to be congratulated for how they responded.
To those that stayed late on Friday, worked additional hours over the weekend, or hit the ground running with great determination and dexterity on Monday, hats off to you.
You are doing this community proud.
(And to our patients, clients and community members also playing a vital role in helping BRHS navigate COVID-19, thank you, too.)
Help for BRHS Staff
We understand that the uncertainty of the past 12 months has not been easy for our staff to deal with.
And if you’re starting to feel a little pressure at the moment, you’re not alone.
We want to make sure that all BRHS staff have the support they need, in the difficult times when they need it.
If you feel like you could use someone to talk to, or might like a little help working your way through things at the moment, there is help for you.
Visit the Employee Assistance Program page on the BRHS Intranet (under the Employee Services tab) for a list of helpful resources.
They are designed for moments just like these.
And if you don’t find the assistance you need there, talk to your manager.
Hang in there, people. You’re doing important and powerful work, during a time when our community needs you most.
