Last week’s theme in the COVID Cook Off was a chance to walk down memory lane for our intrepid culinarians – “Traditional Family Recipes.”
It was great to see so many staff pilfering Nan’s handiwork and remaking classic family favourites from generations of yore.
As always, picking the best one was a thankless and treacherous job, so we made someone else do it.
Thank you Wendy Whitechurch, Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Oncology Unit, for taking this one for the team.
“It was so tough to judge as everything looked terrific,” Wendy said. “But my winner is Kathy Kinrade’s Lamb Shank Soup – so hearty.”
“Special mention to Amy Desmond for her Grandma’s Boiled Fruit Cake (easy to make, and in time for Christmas) and Libby Byrnes Golden Syrup Dumplings (just lovely.)”
