Over 50? There’s Now Another Option to Get Your COVID Vax

The high volume COVID vaccination site at the Exhibition Centre in Melbourne.

Under the Australian Government’s COVID-19 vaccination program, all Australians aged 50 and over are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

As of this week, eligible people in Victoria will be able to get vaccinated at Victoria’s network of high volume vaccination centres through bookings or walk-in appointments, in addition to the local GP clinics, medical centres and respiratory clinics that are already providing the vaccine.

The closest high volume vaccination centre to Bairnsdale is in Traralgon, at the Traralgon Racecourse.

For a full list of high volume vaccination centres visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/vaccination-centres or call 1800 675 398.

You can book ahead by calling 1800 675 398 (select option 3, option 2, option 2).

Walk-ins are allowed but bookings are encouraged.

Fully-trained health professionals will administer the vaccine on site in a private booth. You can ask them any questions – or you can ask your GP.

To find out if you are eligible, and where you can get the vaccine in East Gippsland, visit covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility or call 1800 020 080.

It’s recommended that people wait two weeks between receiving a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and receiving the flu vaccine
