Past nurses and staff tour BRHS as part of reunion celebrations

A group of approximately 20 of the Bairnsdale Past Nurses Association and past staff toured Bairnsdale Regional Health Service recently as part of the Associations 50 year anniversary celebrations.

Included in the group were previous Chief Executive Officer, Ian Woolstencroft, and Facilities Manager, Bill Redenbach.

The night before over 100 past nurses and dignitaries attended a dinner held at the Bairnsdale Sporting and Convention Centre to mark 50 years since Bairnsdale Regional Health (then Bairnsdale District Hospital) ceased training registered nurses.

Group members were impressed with the progress of the health service and how the modern nursing education unit works to support the university education of registered nurses during their clinical placements.

They had a great time as they reminisced about their time working at BRHS and told stories of past practices.
