Vic Health Minister meets BRHS staff on hospital tour

Victorian Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas has toured Bairnsdale Regional Health Service as part of a visit to East Gippsland on Thursday.

Ms Thomas was greeted by BRHS Board Chair Chris Barry, Deputy Chair Sandy Leggatt and Executive Acute Services/Chief Nurse and Midwife Maree Fellows.

She toured the BRHS Emergency Department, Tambo Ward and Maternity Unit and met  many of the staff in these areas.

“It was great to have the Minister visit us to look over our facility We were able to show her the quality of the service that we provide for our community, Chris said.

Maree said she was delighted that the Minister spoke to so many members of the BRHS team during the tour.

“The Minister was very engaged with our people. She was very interested to hear their stories,” Maree said.

Sandy added: “She thanked all the staff that she met and she recognised the good work that they do”.

The BRHS visit was part of a wider Ministerial tour of regional health services.
